Alec became involved with the BHF after having a heart attack on the 30th November
2006 at lunch time as he walked in through his front door. Alec had seen the poster,
see below, that had only been out for a week, and phoned 999. Steve the Fast response
Paramedic arrived within 5 Minutes and stabilised him until the ambulance arrived,
on the way to Bedford Hospital Lola had to stop the ambulance and use the defibrillator
to get the heart pumping again and the A & E struggled for nearly an hour to keep
him alive. Alec had a quadruple bypass on the 28th February 2007 and was back at

his 3rd birthday last November with a sticky sponge cake decorated with lots of
different sweets.
